Its oxidation power is very effective at eliminating harmful micro-organisms in the soil without pollution. In water, it can be used for irrigation and for spraying horticulture and livestock with proven beneficial effects.
Horticulture
Many groups of researchers have concluded that ozone, which is a gas with high oxidising power, could be the best option for eliminating micro-organisms and weeds, since it is not a pollutant and is only residual in the soil as oxygen. We use ozonated water for horticulture to ensure a gentler solution

When ozone is applied to the soil it releases a large amount of oxygen radicals, so much so that it kills the micro-organisms.
Tests have been conducted on strawberry soil because it is a very sensitive soil that requires disinfection every growth cycle. With 2 by 15 minute applications 95% disinfection was achieved, which can only be surpassed by methyl bromide - a chemical which is banned for most applications due to its residual damage.
Agriculture has become accustomed to applying chemicals to its crops and therefore ozone is a paradigm shift - but customers and society are seeking alternatives. Large and increasing quantities of expensive chemicals are used to keep threats at bay. This ends in a vicious cycle with soil deterioration, insect and fungal resilience and is taking its toll on the result of the crops. Research shows ozone acts as a growth stimulant through oxygenation of the roots without leaving any chemical residue.
Vegetables
The best, most sustainable and natural way to control or eliminate micro-organisms is through ozone as it is a natural decontaminant and its only residual in the soil is oxygen. It is therefore not using chemical products, not generating residuals on the crop and not negatively affecting the environment.
It leaves no residual and staff can re-enter a sprayed area immediately so there is no stand-down whilst the chemicals are active. It is environmentally safe and does not enter the food chain, removing the risk of harmful chemicals on your foods.

Viticulture and Berries
Ozone has been succesfully appplied to wineries and berries and to the growing medium to eliminate fungi and is far cheaper than using chemicals. As it leaves no residue the fruit is in perfect condition, being more organic, eco-safe, healthier and more consistent with nature itself. Land care benefits from the application of ozone.
- With ozone an effective disinfection is achieved on the vine and it can be applied to wine barrels as well. It does not affect the flavour nor aromas of the grapes yet is highly effective. There is also no chemical transfer and the risk of chemicals entering the food chain is eliminated.
- Powdery mildew is a disease caused by a fungus that winters in the buds, branches and leaves and even the bark of vines. When there is regular spraying with an ozone generator ozone is effective to combat the fungus.
Livestock Husbandry
Ozone in livestock should be used for its oxidizing properties, oxygen regeneration, growth stimulant, bacterial, fungicide and disinfectant actions in general. It reduces the need for chlorine on the farm and is a natural product, made on site and no chemical storage.
Milking sheds and poultry are highly concentrated environments which lead to a concentration of ammonia fumes, acids and increase in microbial flora. This creates an environment of lack of oxygen and possible disease. Ozone generators can be used to clear the air, used in the feed water, clean out the water and irrigation pipes.
If deposited in feeders and drinkers it allows greater assimilation of food.Washing an animal with ozonised water provides hygiene and disinfects the skin.
